Game recap: Buchholz High School Football Team takes down West Port

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - the Bobcats scored 20 points in the second quarter to secure a big 34-7 victory over West Port (Ocala, Fla.) on Saturday.

Buchholz scored on a Kenny Scott touchdown run, a Bryce Goston touchdown pass to Jared Goar and a touchdown pass by Goston to Ahmad Ivey in the quarter.

BHS was up 20-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Goston to Goar in the second quarter.

The Gainesville school expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bobcats scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Goston.



Goston played well for Buchholz in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

The Wolf Pack's lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the second quarter.

BHS came in allowing an average of 29.6 points per game this season.

The Bobcats also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-20.

The loss comes after West Port defeated Chiles 42-33 last week. With the win Buchholz extended its winning streak to three games.

Next week, West Port (4-5) will take on Belleview in a non-conference game. The Rattlers /Diamo have put together a 3-5 record on the year so far.
