Football Recap: Kendrick Skates Past Jordan with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kendrick). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 40-0 victory over the Jordan Red Jackets. The win continues a trend for the Cherokees in their matchups with the Red Jackets: they've now won five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kendrick to victory, but perhaps none more so than LaVasco Williams, who rushed for 175 yards and one score on only 15 carries. The Cherokees are 3-1 when Williams posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ira Scott, who picked up 139 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kendrick was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Kendrick now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Kendrick and Jordan will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Cherokees see the field they'll take on Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Jordan, their break will end when they face Hardaway at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
