Volleyball Recap: Rocky Grove Starts off Right with Win over Jamestown

Rocky Grove had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Jamestown Muskies. The game was the first time the Orioles have beaten the Muskies on their court since September 30, 2021.

Rocky Grove walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 24-26, 25-13.

Leading Rocky Grove to victory were Anna Rodgers and Abagail Mawhinney. Rodgers had ten digs and one assist, while Mawhinney had seven aces, five kills, five digs, and one block. Rodgers has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Rocky Grove was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Rocky Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Commodore Perry on the 26th. As for Jamestown, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Reynolds on the 26th.
