Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. West Union Eagles

Wheeler will take on West Union in a tournament on Monday. Wheeler knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully West Union likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Wheeler needed a bit of extra time to put away Alcorn Central. They pulled ahead with a 73-72 photo finish over the Bears. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when West Union took on Myrtle on Friday. The Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hawks 68-36. With the Eagles ahead 39-18 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for West Union, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Wheeler came up short against West Union when the teams last played back in February, falling 60-51. Can Wheeler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
