It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Utica ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Watkins Memorial Warriors. The game was the first time the Redskins have beaten the Warriors on their field since April 12, 2016.

Utica has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Watkins Memorial, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Utica will challenge Danville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Watkins Memorial, they will face off against Hayes at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
