Football Recap: Franklin Community Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin Community can now relate to. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 21-7 to the East Central Trojans. The Grizzly Cubs were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Greyson Betts threw for 102 yards and one touchdown. Braeden Bonesteel was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Cori Tonte rushed for 87 yards.

Franklin Community's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for East Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Franklin Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Central, they will face off against Whiteland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
