Baseball Recap: Grace Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Zephyrhills Christian Academy

Grace Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors 15-3. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Benjamin Fanelli was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Kyler Rickenbach, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Grace Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zephyrhills Christian Academy only hit five hits.

Zephyrhills Christian Academy dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Grace Christian will square off against Hernando Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, they will face off against Real Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
