Football Game Preview: Ragland Purple Devils vs. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles

The Ragland Purple Devils will square off against the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ragland, who comes in off a win.

If Ragland beats Decatur Heritage Christian Academy with 41 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Purple Devils were the clear victors by a 41-18 margin over Ider on Friday. Considering the Purple Devils have won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

A'Ron Lee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 68 receiving yards and one TD. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 68 yards. Another player making a difference was Kodi Embry, who threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ragland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Decatur Heritage Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against Winston County, falling 49-0. The shutout was out of character for the Eagles seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Ragland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points over those games. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
