Recap: Poly Parrots vs. Arleta Mustangs
The Poly Parrots have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 53-48 victory over Arleta on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Poly also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for JD Wyatt, who scored 39 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Poly's points. Cole Tingson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Poly's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-13. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Arleta, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
Poly won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Polytechnic at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Arleta, they will be playing at home against North Hollywood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
