Volleyball Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals vs. Centura Centurions

Doniphan-Trumbull lost against Centura back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centurions. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14.

Charlee Richter paced Doniphan-Trumbull's offense, picking up eight kills. Richter got some help from Laini Rath and her seven assists. Kinley Kaczor controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Centura got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedy Davis out in front who had ten kills and three blocks. That's the most blocks Davis has posted over her last four contests. Belle Taukiuvea was another key player, getting 22 assists and one block.

Doniphan-Trumbull's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Centura, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Doniphan-Trumbull will square off against Sandy Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Centura, they will face off against Gibbon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
