Preview: Sunnyvale vs. Kaufman
Sunnyvale and Kaufman are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. Sunnyvale will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kaufman Lions at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Sunnyvale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 20 goals over their last three matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Sunnyvale gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Caddo Mills a 7-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Landon Marquez de la Plata as he scored three goals for his team.
Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Kaufman were a bit more limited in their game on Monday. Their rough 3-0 loss to Community might stick with them for a while.
Sunnyvale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-3 record this season. As for Kaufman, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-1.
Sunnyvale came out on top in a nail-biter against Kaufman in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Will Sunnyvale repeat their success, or does Kaufman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
