Football Game Preview: State College Little Lions vs. Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack

The State College Little Lions will face off against the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

State College is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past McDowell to the tune of 41-7. The Little Lions pushed the score to 41-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead State College to victory, but perhaps none more so than D'Antae Sheffey, who rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 63 receiving yards and one score. Sheffey is becoming a predictor of the Little Lions' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Connor Kulka was another key passer, throwing for 224 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: State College was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 229 rushing yards. They are a perfect 8-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

State College didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Keen Furmanek, Rowan Walker, Anderson Aj Fry, and Hank Lustig picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Wilkes-Barre was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Williamsport 42-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolfpack.

State College's record is now 9-2. As for Wilkes-Barre, their record now sits at 8-4.
