Kings Christian and Laton are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Kings Christian Crusaders will take on the Laton Mustangs at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Kings Christian has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Kings Christian saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They came up short against Roosevelt, falling 11-1. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kings Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haiden Kelso, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Laton fell victim to Orange Cove and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 16-0 to the Titans. The Mustangs have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meetings.

Kings Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Laton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Kings Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Laton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 14-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kings Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
