Drummond hadn't done well against Luck recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Lumberjacks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Cardinals. This was payback for the Lumberjacks, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Drummond had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-23, 15-9.

Luck's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Mattson, who had 11 digs.

The win snapped Drummond's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Luck, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Coming up, Drummond is taking a road trip to take on Northwestern at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Luck, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Webster on the 23rd.
