The Park Tudor Panthers will take on the Monrovia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
On Thursday, Park Tudor came up short against Lawrence Central and fell 3-1.
The final score came out to 25-23, 25-27, 25-14, 25-12.
Despite their defeat, Park Tudor saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Layla Trammel, who had 11 digs and two assists, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, Monrovia beat Southmont 2-0 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Park Tudor better focus on containing Ciara Elliott and Mia Bain as the pair were huge in Monrovia's win. Elliott had six digs and two aces, while Bain had four aces. That's the most aces Bain has posted over her last six contests.
Monrovia was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.
Park Tudor's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Monrovia, their record now sits at 10-20.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Park Tudor has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12 aces per game. However, it's not like Monrovia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
