Recap: Shandon Outlaws vs. Alpaugh Buffalos

This season hasn't been kind to the Shandon Outlaws, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were dealt a 63-22 loss at the hands of Alpaugh on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shandon in their matchups with Alpaugh: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alpaugh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luis Lopez, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Alcazar, who scored five points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Shandon's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.3 points per game. As for Alpaugh, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Shandon will head out on the road to face off against Coast Union at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coast Union is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Alpaugh, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Kings Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Kings Christian will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.
