Basketball Recap: Bayfield Gets the Win

On Saturday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, the Bayfield Trollers made off with an 81-80 win over the Webster Tigers.

Bayfield was led to victory by Quintin Bresette and Maxwell Gordon. Bresette almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine assists, while Gordon dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bresette has scored at least a third of Bayfield's points. Another player making a difference was Dashon Tourdot, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Bayfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Webster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayfield will square off against Lac Courte Oreilles at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Bayfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Webster, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Webster Tigers duke it out with the Ellsworth Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
