Soccer Recap: Newark Comes Up Short

Newark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 4-1 to the Canal Winchester Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Newark of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Canal Winchester, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4-1 record this season.

Newark will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Pickerington Central at 7:00 p.m. As for Canal Winchester, they will take on Big Walnut at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
