Football Recap: Weaver Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Weaver took a 38-point defeat the last time they faced off against Ellington, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Beavers had just enough and edged out the Knights 42-39. The win was familiar territory for the Beavers, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Weaver's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaiden Booth, who picked up 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards and one TD. With that strong performance, Booth is now averaging an impressive 102.9 receiving yards per game. Johnathan Mitchell was in the mix as well, providing Weaver with two scores.

Weaver didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Booth.

Weaver's record is now 7-2. As for Ellington, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-2.

Looking ahead, Weaver will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Capital Prep/Achievement First at 10:00 a.m. As for Ellington, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rockville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
