Preview: Aquinas Monarchs vs. St. Cecilia Bluehawks
The Aquinas Monarchs will head out on the road to challenge the St. Cecilia Bluehawks on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Aquinas beat Twin River 41-37. That's two games straight that Aquinas has won by exactly four points.
Bryant Stouffer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Dylan Andel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
St. Cecilia posted their closest win yet this season two weeks ago. They had just enough and edged Lincoln Christian out 50-47.
Aquinas has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for St. Cecilia, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Aquinas might still be hurting after the 44-21 defeat they got from St. Cecilia when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Aquinas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
