Basketball Recap: GV Christian Starts Season with Victory at Home

GV Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They really took it to the Cristo Rey St. Viator Royals for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-11 victory. With the Guardians ahead 39-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.

GV Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dean Cootware, who posted seven points along with eight boards and five steals. Those five steals gave Cootware a new career-high. Wake Rolwing was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Coming up, GV Christian will challenge Jackpot at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cristo Rey St. Viator, they will head out on the road to challenge Boulder City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
