Basketball Recap: Borger Comes Up Short at Home Against Friona

Borger unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 65-64 to the Friona Chieftans. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 18 in a row.

Borger lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Champion Blythe, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Zaymian Heredia, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Coming up, Borger will square off against Clarendon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Friona, they will take on River Road at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
