Basketball Recap: Manila Drops Highest Score of Season Against American Heritage

Manila scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 67-57 to the American Heritage Patriots. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Manila still got an impressive performance from Kassali Wall, who shot 44% from the field en route to 21 points along with six boards and five steals. Wall's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Gradie Pendleton was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Manila's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for American Heritage, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Manila will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for American Heritage, they will host Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots' defense better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 53.7 points per game this season.
