Softball Recap: Avon Lake Takes a Loss

Avon Lake fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Berea-Midpark on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 5-4. The Shoremen just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Olivia Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Carmen McMinn was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Avon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Berea-Midpark, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Avon Lake is set to face off against their familiar foe Elyria at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Berea-Midpark will square off against rival Steele at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
