Basketball Game Preview: Memorial Roughriders vs. Shawnee Indians

Memorial is 2-8 against Shawnee since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Memorial Roughriders will host the Shawnee Indians at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. The game between them and Indian Lake didn't end well, with Memorial falling 64-50. That's two games in a row now that the Roughriders have lost by exactly 14 points.

Meanwhile, Shawnee waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They breezed by the Redskins to the tune of 63-33. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Memorial better focus on containing Trevick Bertke and Beckett Bertke as the pair were huge in Shawnee's win. Trevick went 9 for 12 en route to 22 points, while Beckett almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Trevick's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damola Ojo, who posted six points.

Shawnee pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
