Football Recap: Borger Comes Up Short

Borger extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-10. The game between the Bulldogs and the Perryton Rangers didn't end well, with the Bulldogs falling 42-23. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rangers from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

As for Perryton, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-6. That looming 42-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Perryton was led to victory by Cooper Ryan Schilling and Isaac Arellano. Ryan Schilling rushed for 147 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, while Arellano gained 263 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Arellano a new career-high in rushing yards (185). Gordo Estrada also helped with two TDs in total.

Borger does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perryton, they will face off against Greenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood's defense has only allowed 12.1 points per game this season, so Perryton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
