Football Game Preview: Thayer Bobcats vs. Marionville Comets

The Thayer Bobcats will square off against the Marionville Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Thayer is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Pierce City, posting a 60-15 victory. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Marionville was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Miller 53-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Comets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Cardinals are ranked 181st).

Thayer's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Marionville, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-1.

Thayer might still be hurting after the 34-8 loss they got from Marionville in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Thankfully for the Bobcats, Wil Carlton (who rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
