Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

The Heritage Coyotes came up short against the Bishop O'Connell Knights on Saturday and fell 77-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (60), the Coyotes still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Heritage still got an impressive performance from Bryson Howard, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. Garrett Shelton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Corey Dixon had an outrageously good game for Bishop O'Connell as he shot 58% from the field en route to 38 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Bivins, who posted 20 points and six assists.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Bishop O'Connell, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Heritage is taking a road trip to square off against Berkner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.86 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bishop O'Connell, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on IMG Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
