Game recap: Tabernacle High School Football Team beats Tuscaloosa Christian

COTTONDALE, Ala. -
Tabernacle (Gardendale, Ala.) saw its 24-point lead dwindle to eight, but still managed to hang on and upset
Tuscaloosa Christian (Cottondale, Ala.) 44-36 on Saturday.
The Torches were up 24-8 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Judd Sims in the first quarter.
Tabernacle saw its 16-point halftime lead fall to 14 entering the fourth.
Sims and
Tristan Castro ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Warriors. Sims scored three touchdowns on the ground and Castro added two as well.
Jordan Potter made a difference for Tuscaloosa Christian. The senior quarterback threw four touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to nine on the year.
A 42-36 Tabernacle victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Tuscaloosa Christian defeated Victory Christian 52-42 last week. The loss snapped TC's 2-game winning streak.
