Basketball Recap: St. Ignatius Comes Up Short

St. Ignatius was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Arlee 67-28. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Arlee are ranked 34th).

Despite the defeat, St. Ignatius saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jason Leishman posted ten points and eight rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Leishman.

St. Ignatius' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Arlee, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

St. Ignatius will take on Lincoln County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Ignatius is facing Lincoln County at the right time seeing as Lincoln County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Arlee, they will challenge Loyola-Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Loyola-Sacred Heart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Arlee likes a good challenge.
