Wilby entered their tilt with Derby on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 50-40 victory over the Derby Red Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-36 back in January.

Wilby got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Raine Upchurch out in front who posted 21 points and four steals. Upchurch has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ja'Nell Saunders, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards.

Wilby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Derby lost, don't look at Jerlena Alexander. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Those 24 points gave Alexander a new career-high.

Wilby's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Derby, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Wilby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-42 loss against Ansonia on the 17th. As for Derby, they have also already played their next game, a 41-38 defeat against Kennedy on the 14th.
