Volleyball Recap: Florin Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Florin had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 2-9 to make it nine. They came up short against the Johnson Warriors, falling 3-0. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Diane Iakopo paced Florin's offense, picking up four kills. Iakopo got some help from Jesse Lee and her six assists. Finally, Shriya Sharma kept Florin's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Johnson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 16, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Among those leading the charge was Daisy Vang, who had 21 assists and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Florin is set to face off against their familiar foe Armijo at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Johnson will square off against rival Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
