Basketball Recap: Madison Southern Takes a Loss

Madison Southern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors.

Christian Academy of Knoxville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zachary Coffman, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points and four steals. Coffman continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Bennett, who posted ten points and six assists.

Madison Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Madison Southern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-58 victory against Campbell County on the 23rd. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-43 loss against Bell County on the 23rd.
