Basketball Recap: Winfield Comes Up Short

Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Circle Thunderbirds. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Thunderbirds from their previous meeting back in February.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Circle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winfield and Augusta will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Circle, after both having extra time off, they and Emporia will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
