Football Recap: Atkins Comes Up Short

Atkins extended their losing streak to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-9. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Mount Tabor Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Camels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Spartans are ranked 101st).

As for Mount Tabor, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games.

Mount Tabor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angelo Moreno Jr, who rushed for 26 yards and one score, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Trey Cutler made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
