Football Recap: Jeremy King Key Part of Team Effort in Dukes Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sussex Central, Windsor was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Surry County Cougars 41-26. For the Dukes, this counts as revenge for the 42-12 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Windsor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremy King led the charge by rushing for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. What's more, King posted five passing yards, the most he's had since back in August. Another back making a difference was Javion Collins, who rushed for 59 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Windsor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Surry County lost, don't look at Keivon Ellis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries.

Windsor's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.8 points over those games. As for Surry County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
