Softball Game Preview: Magnolia Bulldogs vs. Shepherd Pirates

The Magnolia Bulldogs will be taking part in a tournament against the Shepherd Pirates at 10:15 a.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Monday, Magnolia didn't have quite enough to beat Tomball Memorial and fell 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Shepherd came up short against Montgomery on Thursday and fell 8-4. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shepherd saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayci Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Shepherd, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 10-2.
