Softball Game Preview: Loudoun County Captains vs. Dominion Titans

Loudoun County is 9-0-1 against Dominion since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Loudoun County will welcome Dominion at 6:30 p.m. Loudoun County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Loudoun County proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverside, sneaking past 5-4.

Keira Bertoglio was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 7.3 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Dominion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against South Lakes, falling 26-3.

Loudoun County's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Dominion, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
