Basketball Recap: Detroit Country Day Victorious

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Detroit Country Day ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 50-46 victory over the Canton Cobras. This was payback for the Yellowjackets, who suffered a 72-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Canton lost, don't look at Nick Hurley. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Hurley a new career-high in points. Teddy Winstel was another key player, putting up seven points and nine rebounds.

The win got Detroit Country Day back to even at 3-3. As for Canton, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Detroit Country Day will venture away from home to take on Loyola Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Canton, they will host Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
