Basketball Recap: Shawnee Mission Northwest Gets the Win

Shawnee Mission Northwest's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Olathe East Hawks by a score of 47-38. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

Shawnee Mission Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Olathe East, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Shawnee Mission Northwest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Park Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Shawnee Mission Northwest is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Park Hill a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Olathe East, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Olathe Northwest on January 10, 2025.
