Volleyball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

If Monticello was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fallsburg on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the O'Neill Raiders on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Monticello was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into O'Neill's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-13, 25-16.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for O'Neill, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Monticello will venture away from home to face off against Beacon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for O'Neill, they will square off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
