Softball Recap: Enterprise Takes a Loss

Enterprise might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Newton County who claimed the real prize. The Enterprise Bulldogs took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newton County Cougars. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Saylee Perry was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. What's more, she also posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anna Herrington, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newton County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enterprise will be taking part in a tournament against Sebastopol at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Newton County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Enterprise at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
