There's no place like home for Berthoud, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Severance Silver Knights on Tuesday. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 win the Silver Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Camryn Olivas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Kuntz, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Berthoud's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Severance, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4-1.
Coincidentally, Berthoud and Severance will both be playing Northridge the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Silver Knights will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
