Volleyball Recap: Weston Ranch Takes a Loss

After flying high against Franklin on Monday, Weston Ranch came back down to earth. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edison Vikings on Wednesday. The Cougars have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-23, 19-25, 25-14, 25-11.

Defeat or not, Weston Ranch got some senior leadership from Alaina Escobedo and Daisy Toledo. Escobedo had 27 digs and 25 assists, while Toledo had 27 digs and three assists. Toledo has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Weston Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Edison, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Weston Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Chavez on the 20th. As for Edison, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against McNair on the 20th.
