Football Recap: Leto Falcons vs. Jefferson Dragons

Leto lost against Jefferson back in October of 2014, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Leto Falcons were beaten by the Jefferson Dragons 48-13. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Dragons are ranked 208th).

Ronnell Dubose had an outrageously good game for Jefferson as he rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Jack Cunningham was another key player, throwing for 254 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt.

This is the second loss in a row for Leto and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Jefferson, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leto will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Cardinal Mooney at 7:30 p.m. on September 13th. As for Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against George Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
