Basketball Recap: Trent Vanlandingham's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mississinewa over Norwell

Mississinewa fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Norwell on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 69-67. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Mississinewa's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Vanlandingham, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and five blocks. Ravyeon Fetz was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Mississinewa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Norwell, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Mississinewa will face off against Hamilton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Norwell, they will square off against Oak Hill at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
