Baseball Recap: Tarboro Comes Up Short

Tarboro lost against Perquimans on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 6-4. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cole Craddock made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Tarboro's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

Tarboro's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Perquimans, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tarboro will head out to face off against North East Carolina Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Perquimans, they will venture away from home to square off against First Flight at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Nighthawks have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
