Basketball Recap: Aubrey Hampton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cypress Creek over Cypress Woods + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Cypress Creek took on Cypress Woods on Tuesday. The Cougars fell 57-50 to the Wildcats. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Hampton, who shot 80% from the field on her way to 16 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariyah Dickson, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cypress Woods, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Coming up, Cypress Creek will take on Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cypress Woods, they will challenge Waller at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
