Volleyball Recap: Dixon Comes Up Short

Dixon lost against Geneseo back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Dukes & Duchesses took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maple Leafs. The Dukes & Duchesses have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Dixon was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The final score came out to 26-24, 29-27.

Izzy Queckboerner paced Dixon's offense, picking up nine kills. Queckboerner got some help from Leah Carlson and her 14 assists. Carlson was also a major player on defense: she and Solis Thompson shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Dixon's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Geneseo, they pushed their record up to 20-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Dixon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Winnebago on the 21st. As for Geneseo, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Rock Island on the 21st.
