Recap: Westview Warriors vs. Heritage Patriots
On Tuesday, Westview rang in the new year with a 39-29 win over Heritage.
Bre Cory was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Bontrager, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Heritage saw an underclassman step up: Trinitee Brown scored 17 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Brown scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Grace Guenthner, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Westview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-13 record this season. As for Heritage, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Westview will be playing at home against Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeland is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against Adams Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
